These chocolaty, spicy cookies are great with tea. Make a big pot of your favorite tea,
curl up in a cozy chair and savor the moment!
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ c. sliced almonds
- 1 c. sugar
- ¼ c. cocoa
- 2 tsp. Chai Americaine® tea leaves
- 2 oz. chocolate chips
- 2 large egg whites*
- Extra chocolate chips for drizzle
In food processor pulse first 4 ingredients until finely ground. Add 2 oz. chocolate and
process until finely ground.
Add egg whites 1 T. at a time and process until dough forms. Chill 2 hours.
When ready to bake, preheat oven to 3000
Line baking 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Using small cookie scoop, scoop dough onto parchment covered trays.
Bake at 300o for 12-15 minutes. Cool.
When cookies are cool, drizzle with melted chocolate.
Yield: 36 cookies
*Note: If using packaged liquid egg white, package may read that 3 T. = 1 large egg. However,
try using 2T. per large egg. Mixture can be a little too wet with 3 T.
This recipe is gluten free when used with gluten free chocolate chips.
