Santa Hat Brownies
These fun brownies will turn any ordinary summer cookout into a Christmas in July celebration. Be prepared to make extra because these yummies will go quickly!

Ingredients:
1 box of your favorite brownie mix
12-18 medium strawberries
Butter cream icing*

Clean strawberries and set aside to dry.

Make brownies as directed in either a 9 x 13 pan or a 9 x 9 pan. (We used mini muffin pans). Cool.
Once cooled, cut brownies with a 2” round cookie cutter.

Slice top off of strawberry and place strawberry top side down on brownie.

Pipe butter cream icing around bottom of strawberry to form “fur” for hat. Place small dollop of icing on tip of strawberry. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Note:
Brownies can be made ahead, cut and frozen. Thaw brownies the morning of your event. Top with strawberries and icing no more than 2-3 hours prior to serving. Strawberries may bleed a little onto icing.

*You can use pre-made butter cream icing or make your own:

4 Tablespoons butter, softened
1 1/3 cups confections sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
Milk

Using an electric mixer, cream butter and whip until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Whip until combined. Add a few drops of milk until icing is a spreading consistent.
